This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In undertaking this course I quickly realized how much I had forgotten about the areas of the English language that we take for granted when speaking. Looking at the language from a learners' perspective and what is required in order for them to understand the rules of structure, grammar etc, really makes you appreciate how you need to simplify these areas and structure the lesson to include humor and student participation, to best assist the students with their learning. I plan to acquire more reference materials to add to my own knowledge of the language and assist with my lesson preparation. A key reason for taking this course is to enable travel to and secure work in other countries. This will afford me a skill I can use to earn money and sustain myself while experiencing other cultures and customs.
