I have always known about TEFL International, and some of my friends have done it in Taiwan. I never thought that I needed it because I never had any problems finding teaching jobs in Taiwan, but that was about three years ago. After I quit my job and started to travel around the world, and when the time I went back to Taiwan, most of the English language schools started to ask for a TESOL certificate. Of course, you can still find English teaching jobs in Taiwan without a TESOL certificate, but your salary is not going to be as much as the other teachers who have got them. That is why I decided to contact TESOL International to get some information and I chose to do the course at Via Lingua in Phuket.

I have always known some teaching methods, but I had never heard of anything about ESA method before. As the course progressed, I realized that there were so many things that I still had to learn about English teaching. I did not have too many problems with grammar. Actually, I find English grammar is interesting and it always makes sense to me at the end. The trainers in our course also gave us some really nice teaching ideas that we can use in the classrooms. TESL International helped us to sharpen our teaching practices, confirmed our abilities, and of course, made us better teachers! I learned some details of the techniques, skills, and a solid foundation course in English grammar. Also, lesson planning is really important when it comes to teaching. The trainers spent a lot of time with us during the lesson planning because it is the most important part. Planning your lesson before class helps your class go smoothly and not wasting any unnecessary teaching time.

I also experienced teaching different levels of students. I never taught adults before because I was not sure how to teach them. Now, I have practiced teaching at different levels. In the future, I will be more confident when it comes to teaching adults. Completing a TESOL course is very important if you want to be a teacher. Being as a teacher, you need to be responsible to your students and of course to yourself. You can not walk into the classrooms and know exactly nothing about teaching. If you want to become an English language teacher and are looking for an internationally recognised teaching qualification, the TEFL International is ideal.
