2. What are the main differences between your TESOL programs?

International TESOL Teacher Training offers a wide variety of TESOL certificate programs that vary in duration and cost, but all of our programs are based around the same principles, which is to provide practical, high quality training. Our courses have all developed from using the same core materials. The principle differences are:

  • Our online TESOL programs are studied 100% by distance learning.
  • You would be assigned your own personal tutor who will help and guide you through the program that you choose. Due to the nature of our online programs, being completed by distance learning, there is no teaching practice component or classroom time.
  • You would however, through CD-ROM, have the opportunity to see actual EFL lessons taking place. The advantages of this these programs are that you can take the course from anywhere in the world, the programs are priced very competitively and you are able to study at your own pace.
  • Our classroom based programs require attendance at one of our training facilities (offered in a variety of attractive locations).
  • These programs are based 100% in the classroom and because of this you would have the opportunity to practice teaching English to real students. Our classroom based programs are intensive and the duration of the program is 4 weeks.
  • Our combined programs combine the best of the classroom based and online programs. You would study the theories and principles at your own pace, online and then attend one of our training facilities (for 2 weeks) to gain classroom based EFL teaching practice.

3. Which is the right TESOL program for me?

This is a somewhat difficult question to answer, as the answer would ultimately depend on your personal circumstances. No matter which program you choose, you can be assured of the highest standards of assistance, tuition and support in finding TESOL teaching jobs.

4. Are TESOL certificates awarded by ITTT accepted internationally and do they meet all international standards?

The answer to both questions is yes. Graduates of our TESOL Programs are able to find TESOL teaching positions around the world. All of our courses and training centres are externally moderated, validated and accredited by the BOAA (Board of Academic Advisors) and by IATQuO (International Association of TESOL Qualifying Organizations) Both accrediting bodies ensure that we provide consistency and quality of training and support services.

5. Where will I find teaching jobs with a TESOL certificate?

You will be able to teach English pretty much anywhere in the world. Most teaching jobs tend to be in countries where English is not the native/local language. For further information relating to teaching jobs in different countries, please visit our TESOL job opportunities page.

6. What experience and/or qualifications are required to complete one of your courses?

We do not require course applicants to have any prior qualifications or experience teaching English. Each course application received is judged upon its own merit. If you are to be a teacher of English, we do require that you have a high standard of both written and spoken. To clarify, it is your use and ability with the English language that is important at this stage and not necessarily your knowledge of terminology and grammar for example. The finer points of the English language will all be covered during your TESOL program. If you are of more mature years, this is in no way a hindrance and should not put you off from applying. As long as you are receptive to learning new ideas and practices you will not have a problem.

7. Do I need to have knowledge of any languages other than English?

No, knowledge of languages other than English is not required. International TESOL Teacher Training utilizes the international standard communicative approach to teaching, English is the only language used in the classroom at all times.

8. Are there any rules in terms of age, how old do I have to be?

We have no upper age limit as such, but we require program applicants to be at least 18 years of age when apply for our online courses and 18 when attending our classroom based programs. We have trained (and found employment for) program graduates of all ages within this criteria.

9. When is the best time to complete a TESOL program?

10. Are non-native English speakers eligible to apply for your TESOL programs?

We welcome applications regardless of race, nationality or first language. Our only requirements is that non native English speaking applicants have a proficient level of English, can provide some evidence of study at a higher level of education (please note: work experience may well be accepted in place of academic qualifications). ITTT has trained a larger number of teachers from many different backgrounds very successfully. We consider it our duty and responsibility to guide and encourage all of our trainees through to successful completion of our TESOL Programs.
