The unit breaks down the five types of classes - beginners, 1-1 lessons, children, business/English for specific purposes, and monolingual/multilingual. The teacher must identify the wants and needs for their type in order to properly prepare for future lessons. Each class has its set of rules and intonations that are appropriate to the students. For example, when teaching children, it is important to change activities frequently to keep up with their short attention spans. Teachers should also use a slow, clear, and higher pitched pronunciation. When teaching business students, it is more important to cater to their needs whether it is time, pace, and goals. This unit was packed with useful information and I enjoyed it very much!
