This chapter focuses on the interaction within a classroom: the teacher's interaction with the students and the students' interaction among themselves. Classroom arrangement not only means the physical arrangement of tables and chairs: it also concerns the relationship between the people in the room. I learned that even the subtle eye contact, gestures and voice of a teacher can be influential in the students' learning. And I was also glad that this chapter talks about establishing rapport in a classroom: it reminds me to often remember the emotional needs of the students.This unit looked at comparing two videos of different lessons, in which the teacher's attitude was very different. The two videos. showed that this impacted drastically on the students' participation, which therefore affected how effective the class was. The videos showed how important the attitude of the teacher is, when encouraging participation of our students, and how quickly it can affect the atmosphere of a class. It showed how one has to be aware of tone and clarity of voice, complexity of language when explaining a new language point, and interaction with students.
