During Unit 8: Future tense, I found myself challenged by the tense system again. I spent many days going over the provided material, viewing the video, and researching online for outside perspective. I try to look for patterns to remember the structures, for example: if it has the word \"perfect\" in the name of the tense then it will include \"will have\". Another example is if it has the word \"continuous\" in the name, I know to include the present participle. I also find it interesting that learning English as a foreign language seems like a match equation. We use this structural formula to accurately place the parts of speech into a sentence or question. As a native English speaker I do not believe we learned this way. Though the idea of compartmentalizing definitely provides for more consistency in a language with so many exceptions.
