Our 170-hour teaching English as a foreign language with online specialization course has been designed for those who would like to gain a qualification to enter the TESOL employment market and wish to maximize their options. Through this course we will give you the knowledge and skills needed to teach English in both classroom and online settings. The course is taken in two parts: First, our 120-hour certification is completed. This is followed by a further 50 hours of study looking at the particular skills needed to teach English online. One added benefit of the course is that on completion you will gain access to a unique graduate network, connecting you to ITTT alumni currently employed by many of the major employers in online teaching.
The 120-hour TESOL course must be taken first, followed by the 50-hour online teaching section. Course participants have the option of either receiving two individual certificates as they complete each of the course components, or a single 170-hour certificate on completion of both.
This course is designed to be taken by anyone who is already teaching but has no certification, or anyone without previous TESOL experience who is looking for an initial qualification to get their new teaching career started. It is a great choice for anyone who intends to work within the field of ESL either online or in a traditional classroom.
Both parts of this package come with the support of an online tutor. Throughout your training you will be able to rely on the assistance of an experienced online tutor who you can contact at any time with any questions or problems you have. Our tutors will get back to you with all the help and advice you need via email within one working day.

TEFL Course Aims
Our 170-hour online TESOL course provides you with a comprehensive introduction to the world of ESL teaching. Once you have completed the initial 120-hour section you should have developed a good working knowledge of the English grammar system, as well as a variety of useful skills and techniques that will help you to deliver interesting and well constructed lessons in the classroom.
Once the whole course is complete, graduates should be able to discuss and evaluate the process of teaching English online using industry standard terminology, have real-world ideas for creating individual lessons that are tailored to the student’s requirements, while also having clear ideas on how to execute the lessons to a wide spectrum of target online individuals or groups. They should also be able to locate and create suitable materials for teaching English online and develop assessment procedures.
Optional Teaching Practice
Another bonus with this course is that it includes the option of additional teaching practice without the need to attend a training center. This option allows you to further your teaching knowledge and gain some classroom experience before you start work in your first proper teaching Job. There are two different options to choose from:
Option 1: You can find a school or language center of your choice (either in-class or online) and teach your lessons there. The school will sign off that you have completed these lessons and your documents will be sent to ITTT for verification.
Option 2: You can find your own student/s and teach the lessons independently at a location of your choice, either face-to-face or remotely. You will need to video one of these sessions (1 hour) and send it to ITTT with your other documentation for verification.
