This unit discussed the future tense. The future tense is very complex in its usages. Many ideas and different tenses can be used with future meaning, such as the present simple and continuous tenses. In the classroom students that I have worked with have a hard time with the future tense and I can understand why. It takes a lot of explanation on the instructors part in order for the students to understand these complex tenses. Though I have used the present simple and present continuous for speaking about the future, I never realized that it was the present tense. I always assumed since I was speaking about the future that it was indeed the future tense. I had no idea that the present tense could act as the future tense.
