Creative writing and speaking can be some of the most difficult parts of teaching. Discussed in this unit is some of the challenges that make it so difficult. This includes lack of enthusiasm, not feeling comfortable in the classroom, and mistakes with grammar, spelling, and pronunciation. In some cultures, such as Japan, it is considered a punishment to be singled out and share. The solution presented in this unit was either present the opportunity to think and prepare ahead of time. Another solution suggested was allowing students to work in pairs or in groups. Going forward, it seems that this might be the best solution for a number of activities to see the best results and comfort levels of students.
