This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:

Unit 11 is based on teaching receptive skills of the language, which include Reading and Listening. Both of them are equally important and, if possible, should be incorporated into your lesson for it to be effective and balanced. There are two main reasons for reading and listening: 1) for a purpose; 2) for entertainment. Depending on the objectives of reading/listening a number of skills can be applied, like: -predictive skills; -scanning; -skimming; -detailed information; -deduction from context. In order to avoid difficulties within understanding of the text, teachers can pre-teach some vocabulary items and be careful when selecting a text (interesting topic, correspond to the level of learners).
