The course helped me clarify in my own mind the exact mechanics of the “Engage-Study-Activate” formula, and its related formulae. The flavor of this already existed below the surface of other training I have received, and has since bubbled to the top during the time I have been teaching, but this course has helped me focus on this aspect of lesson planning - and take careful note of the recipe.
Secondly, the “refresher course” in grammar was especially well-presented, and there were even some ideas in it that I plan to adapt for classroom use!
Thirdly, the recommended resources, such as books and websites, were and will be very useful.
Finally, observations made during the course about classroom dynamics were familiar from my own experiences and reminded me that I am not the only teacher in the world! Importantly, the course gave me an abundance of very useful tips as to how to deal with classroom/student situations, and these have already yielded good results. Having put these tips to good use so far, I am sure that I will continue to put them into action in the future.
