Conditionals and reported speech were the focus of this lesson. The zero, first, second, third, and mixed conditionals were all discussed, and examples were given to highlight their usage as well. Additionally, the transitioning between direct and reported speech was explained. When going through this unit, I realized that although I am familiar with using all these types of speech in my everyday life, I had not ever thought about why the changes take place when speaking in different conditional tenses. This unit was very useful in shedding some background light onto why we use these phrases.Unit 4 focuses on the present tense. It gave brie mention of other tenses then went into the present simple tense, present continuous tense, present perfect tense and present perfect tense. All these forms of the present tense can be applied to several subjects: I, you, he/she/it, we, and they. Each of the present tense has a positive, negative and contracted form, as well as how it would be used in a question sentence. The unit also provided extensive examples about the specific usage of each and went further to give common student mistakes to watch out for, as well as useful teaching ideas.
