This unit covers the future tenses. This is quite a complex area to understand as there are many uses, some of which are actually present tenses but can be used to refer to the future tenses on occasion. The main tenses are:
Future simple: I will, you will etc plus a verb. 'I will cook dinner tonight'
Future continuous: Subject plus will be plus verb-ing. 'I will be wearing a hat'
Future perfect: Will plus have plus verb-ing 'I will have finished by tomorrow'
Future perfect continuous: will plus have plus been plus verb-ing 'I will have been playing for 10 mins by the time you arrive'
Present simple and present continuous are also used sometimes with future applications: These are used in certain situations, like for timetables where it's present but also possibly a future event, or for decisions without a specific time 'I'm moving house'
