This unit was helpful for me. I was able to learn how to properly pronounce words using phonetics. It is useful to help describe sound with a consistent formula for all students. Certain visual aids are best used in certain circumstances, to create the best learning environment for your students. The blackboard is an over used visual aid as it takes a lot of your attention away from the class and focuses it on the board, allowing the students time to \"goof off\" essentially having unsupervised time.
