One of the main characteristics of a good teacher is reliability. Students need to trust the person in charge of their education. The teacher position must be flexible according to the situation. She/he needs to be firm to give a sense of security and soft to prevent the student from feeling bossed around. In order to organize and manage the class in an enjoyable, but disciplined atmosphere, the teacher has to resort to the “Classroom Management†skill. In this unit we have learned the proper use of eye contact, gesture and the voice, how to group students, to arrange the classroom, to reduce the time we spend on blackboard (turning our back to the students). How to give individual attention, to balance TTT and STT, to give instructions, to establish a rapport and maintaining discipline.
