This unit makes a lot of sense to me. What I liked is that there is a unit for language functions. I feel that there is often more emphasis on grammar and vocabulary when learning a language, but students might be more receptive to language functions as it teaches them to actually engage with other people in a conversation and ask questions. Of course, you still require the grammar and vocabulary to make the functions complete. This unit covered the four different present tenses in English. The four tenses include: present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. I feel I have discovered the different usages necessary for each tense type. When determining which tense is used, it is important to analyze the words used rather than the meaning. For instance is an auxiliary word used then if so it may be Present Perfect.
