well for me i prefer detailed information. scanning and skimming also useful sometimes for a quick reading .The lesson on tenses seems easy but actually it is not. Complications arise when describing actions or situations in reference to their current occurrence as well as to their effects. For correct sentence construction and more effective communication, it is important to both know the rules of usage as well as the meaning of the words in the context of the sentence.
