The third unit explains the techniques regarding organizing and managing the class while maintaining discipline and establishing rapport between students and the teacher. The key points of eye contact, gesture, and speaking voice are discussed and the different styles of arranging the classroom are also presented. Teacher Talking Time and Student Talking Time, two fundamental concepts in ETL, are then explored and a number of effective approaches to minimize the TTT are presented. Finally, one of the major challenges that any language teacher has in classes i.e. maintaining discipline is addressed and the most effective solutions are suggested. I personally find most of these ideas considerably helpful and am going to apply them in my future and ongoing classes.
