This unit covered teaching special groups of students. I learned from this module that teaching different groups and ages of students will require much flexibility and adaptation by the teacher. For example, young learners who have shorter attention spans will require much more visual, repetitive and faster flowing tuition. They will also likely be more prone to disruptive behaviour. Conversely, individual students will more likely be highly motivated, and tuition will be more individually focused and flexible to the student's needs. Learners of Business English will often be looking for language tailored towards their specific industry. A teacher should be prepared for tiredness in these students, and reticence in some who may be forced to attend.
