This unit allowed me to think through some of the challenges that an English learner might face during a lesson that I, as a native speaker, might consider straight forward. Some of the tense usages are not those that I naturally think of or those that I consciously think to construct which made this lesson very interesting. Thinking about the actual construction of each sentence for each tense made it clear to me just how tedious English grammar can seem to a learner, beginner or advanced. At the same time, I realize that class activities such as those listed in this unit for the Activate phase of a class, are of great importance to put the grammar into context and allow the students to get a feel for how these rules are applied in conversation.
