This unit provided helpful suggestions for how one might structure a lesson on the first day of class. Rather than diving right into the material, the unit suggested using an introductory activity to establish rapport within the classroom, to learn about the students needs/interests/motivations, and to identify students' individual language levels. Moreover, I learned about different types of \"warmer\" activities that a teacher might use to get the students motivated and using English at the start of an EFL course. Finally, the unit addressed problems that might arise in different teaching settings (i.e. large classes, reluctant students, mixed-level classes, etc.) and provided potential techniques for dealing with those different complications.
