The material of this unit was centered on the teaching of the productive skills. The productive skills are two of four basic skills that are present in all languages. These two skill are writing and speaking. The other two skill are known as the receptive skills, reading and listening, and were discussed in Unit 11. This lesson explained the ways in which we could teach these skills and gave us different ways to motivate and encourage the students. Like many of the other units this one also gave us some examples of an ESL lesson, and provided a list of games that could be employed to help us teach English in a fun way. The information provided in this lesson was very educational and beneficial to my increasing knowledge of teaching ESL.
