This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit is filled with helpful tips for various situations, ranging from the first day of class and a large class size to students speaking their native language and students who are reluctant to participate in class. I was surprised to read that using the textbook is not recommended on the first day of class because from my experience, there is always a great deal of material to get through in a course, so it is necessary to use the textbook off the bat. I am especially looking forward to trying some of the suggested activities on the first day of class to help establish rapport with the students. I would also like to try the recommended warm-up activities at the beginning of class to help engage the students in the day's lesson.
