The two videos that made up this unit are helpful in how they contrast with each other. The first video is a good demonstration on what I should not do when I teach a lesson. The second video provides a much better example for me to follow.
The attitude that I take when I teach a class will affect how my students will respond. For example, the teacher in the first video was brusque and unclear in his instructions. He didn't take much of an effort in eliciting answers from the class or in making his learning activities fun to do. As a result, his students were often confused, bored, and unwilling to speak up in front of the class. The teacher in the second video was friendly and positive; he made sure to use simple language and visual aids while using fun group activities during his lesson. His students had more fun, were better able to comprehend what he wanted them to do, and were much more willing to participate in class discussion.
