This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit has a focus on evaluation and testing. Progress tests and practice tests seem to be straight forward. Placement and diagnostic seem to be similar though they have their specific timing, with placement tests taking place before the course. I think it is good to gauge where students are and the tests can be helpful in doing so. They also don't have to be pen and paper tests so there is some diversity that can be mixed in with testing. I did find the variety of external tests interesting since they range from academic, business, and even life skills. I don't think teaching for a test is the best course of action but I understand the value of them as a way to track student progress and a way for students to challenge themselves.
