This unit explains the many different theories for language teaching. Some of these included were grammar-translation, audio-lingual, task-based, and the silent way. I learned that each of the theories have their advantages and disadvantages and teacher are allowed to be flexible in their own ways. The unit also lists the different methods for teaching the lessons, such as the ESA method and its sub-methods, including boomerang, patchwork, and straight arrow. I feel that these methods can be incorporated into almost any topic, and I also felt the patchwork method can be very useful for a teacher as it allows for flexibility. I also feel that the difference between mistakes and errors are essential and teacher must be aware of them.
