This unit covers the use of course books and other types of lesson materials that are relevant to developing a lesson plan for your students. Examples of this are the use of Authentic materials and/or Course books, along with the pro's and con's of each. I've learned about what exactly is considered an Authentic Material, versus what is usually contained in a Coursebook; for example Authentic Materials are basically anything a native speaker can hear or read like newspapers, songs on the radio, television programs, street signs or banners, etc. Coursebooks would be considered texts that can be used as a general follow along, including a student book. workbook, teacher's book and (if any) supplemental materials like videos or CD's.
