This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:

Unit 7 reviews techniques for teaching vocabulary, grammar, and language function. It discusses what type of ESA lesson format may be most appropriate for coverage of each: straight-arrow ESA lesson for vocabulary and ESA “boomerang” and “patchwork” lessons for grammar and language functions. It lists what elements of language are most important for students to know: meaning, use, pronunciation, spelling, interaction, forms, appropriateness, etc. I found the example lessons helpful for thinking about the practical application of this information. I also appreciated the criteria (appropriateness to the students and task, frequency and coverage, and teachability) for selecting vocabulary.
