This unit focused on speaking and writing, as compared to the previous lesson on reading and listening. It is interesting to note that speaking and writing have the same importance for TESL as I always imagined that speaking was a more important lesson. However it was outlined how writing is important to those learning a second language too, and can actually help in their processing and understanding of a new language. As all students learn differently, it no doubt helps to provide all aspects of a new language to help cement the knowledge. Additionally, students will most likely not only need to speak and understand their new language, but also be capable of communicating through writing it and reading it.
