The attitude of the teacher teaching the class will have a significant impact on the lesson and the way the students respond to him. The teacher in the second lessons smiled as though he wanted to be there called the students their names to show them respect, and most importantly he led and energetic and positive classroom experience. These tactics resulted in a students who also wanted to be there, respected him, and participated in the class because they enjoyed the positive feedback.
The first teacher made the students feel as though they were stupid and wasting his time and as a result they did not participate and received a negative experience likely turning them off from learning English at all.
