This unit deals with some potentially problematic situations, such as reluctant students, large classes, use of L1, different levels, as well as giving some tips for the first lessons and warm up activities. Those are very useful since teachers are in these situations quite often (starting a new course or a new lesson). I really liked the ideas about hangman and pictionary which I could use also with younger students. I'm not so sure about dealing with different levels - pairing the strong and the weak students is a good idea, yet indeed the weakest ones end up passively looking on, so I might want to incorporate the other solutions (different materials or tasks) in these groups. Use of L1 is also an issue, yet most of my students, which are young learners, are not able to use English at all, they are just learning some basic vocab, like animals or food.
