The unit contains information about teaching productive skills or in other words speaking and writing skills. Even though all main skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing are equally important, because the main purpose is to communicate and for that all of the skills should be used, in my opinion we often focus on speaking and reading skills. As effective communication contains also listening and being able to communicate also by written language, it is very important to balance all the skills and pay equal attention. I agree to the statement mentioned in the text that we often do not want the \"quite time\" in the class too much, so teachers give written tasks as home works and most of the students unfortunately are not doing them, so we deal with a problem that students are often not able to express their thoughts in a written form. Therefore a good teacher should always make sure that all four skills are being practiced with the same importance and should focus on students` interests and abilities when choosing activities.
