This unit covered the basics about teaching different types of classes. For example teaching beginners can be challenging as they have no or little knowledge of the language but is the most rewarding. As the demand for one-to-one lessons has increased in recent years, techniques and activities for a group may not be relevant and possible in such lessons. Similarly teaching young children requires different dynamics than that of adults. Children can grasp new language easily but their attention spans are normally very short so the teacher needs to constantly introduce new fun games and activities. Nowadays, teaching English for business speakers is growing. It can be one-to-one, in-company group and in-school group. Teachers should also know how to handle multilingual and monolingual classes.
