There are many teaching aides available for a classroom. Having a board of somekind is important. Visual learner are engaged more when they see thing drawn or written in colour. IWB allow for teachers to plan activities prior to the lesson and also allow the student to interact with the whiteboard - matching words to pictures for example using the IWB pen. OHP's allow for the teacher to stand facing the students. Visual aides (real life objects, photos etc) make the learner more interested and sometime help explain better than words. DVD, CD players also enrich lessons. Ensure all resources are tried and tested before the lesson. And always have a back up plan.
