Unit 8 continues from where it was left off in the previous unit on discussing receptive and productive skills. The unit focuses on productive skills such as speaking and writing, the importance of them in assisting one with learning a new language, the potential difficulties, and how to work around them.
In the textbook, it was mentioned that writing is one of the most neglected areas of learning a new language, and I agree with it as I have been in the position of a student learning a foreign language, and writing can be one of the less engaging activities as compared to speaking and listening. However, the importance of writing cannot be forgotten as it is an activity that lets one gain more accuracy in the new language.
