This unit focuses on the the ESA teaching model in a real classroom context. Two ESA demonstrations are presented in video form, both with the purpose of illustrating the factors that make a lesson plan effective. In both videos, the Tefl student is expected to identify the relevant factors affecting the student's ability to learn, and participate , in addition to how the teacher's attitude, manner and appropriateness of lesson plan, or procedure, impacts upon the learner objective of the class language level.
I found this unit to be particularly helpful, in that, I could actually observe the ESA teaching model in a real life context. From this, I learned just how crucial the engagement, or 'warming-up' phase is to the effectiveness of the entire learning experience.
