This unit reflects on the speaking and writing productive skills. As for speaking, accuracy and fluency carry equal importance. Accuracy checks to see that the students understand the text while fluency activities allow for creativity while exploring new vocabulary. Controlled and guided activities are accuracy based while fluency activities are those that can be controlled by the students versus the teacher. As for writing, it is important that students develop proper penmanship since the alphabet may be difficult to form on paper for some. Spelling, layout and punctuation are also incredibly important.
