This unit focused on conditionals and reported speech. It provided an explanation for the different kinds of conditionals and when to use them. It also explained how to change direct speech into reported speech. It provided a very useful table that provides general rules of how to change each tense from direct speech into reported speech. I think that this table will prove very helpful for the teacher and as a learning material for students as a way to explain direct and indirect speech because there is a high potential to do make errors when initially learning this element of grammarI have learnt that within teaching a new language it is important to remember who your students are and choose accordingly the appropriate lesson required. Many factors to take into consideration such as, age, race, ethnicity, culture etc must be thought about before choosing the appropriate language. Having the students attention is just as equally important and finding a method such as the ESA and applying the relevant tasks will ensure a fantastic lesson for them. I do have to remember that my choice of words is important as English is not their language of choice or native tongue.
