Makes sense! I was worried that the addition of direct and reported speech might make it all a little too much, but overall I think these two contents worked well together. I am now aware of what type of condition makes up what form of conditional. The example sentences are a real help as you can use them as a template to put in different content and find out what constitutes a zero, first, second, third and mixed conditional. Really helpful, although it does make me realise the amount of work that must go in to teaching this to students who have a limited English ability. Overall I think this unit goes along way to helping future teachers understand why conditionals are split into different categories and what they are used to express. Really interesting. Again, when it comes to the reported speech I am lucky as I have a strong sense of language (native speaker). This means I can trust my instincts to just create the correct version of reported speech. I feel that I can explain the concepts a lot better now thanks to this unit!
