In this lesson, I learned how to successfully teach vocabulary words, grammatical structures, and language functions. Multiple different factors need to be taken into consideration when teaching all three of these aspects of the English language. Firstly, the teacher needs to know the English level of their class. For teaching vocabulary words, a teacher needs to know how to choose which vocabulary words to teach to their students. They need to know what the students should know about those words and well as multiple techniques to teach those words. When teaching grammatical structure to students, the teacher needs to ensure that their students know the meaning of the words, the usages of the words, the forms and patterns, as well as the difference between the spoken form and the written form of the words. When teaching language functions, the teacher must relay to their students that this involves things like inviting, refusing, suggesting, agreeing, and disagreeing as all a part of language function.
