In thus unit I had great opportunity to watch two different video lessons. In first unit the teacher was not polite and discouraged students participation. The students were confused and uninterested. In the second video lessons the teacher used effective techniques. He used his voice more effectively,he spoke more slowly and clearly. Also the teacher used gestures and miming. The students were participating effectively in the second lesson.Unit 11 is about reading and listening. These are called the receptive skills. Reading or listening for a specific purpose is very different from reading or listening for entertainment. Simply because someone can effectively read or listen to something does not mean that they can fully comprehend it. For the teacher, a balance must be achieved between teaching students every word in a text and letting them discover new language on their own.
