The productive skills, reading and writing, are used for a common purpose. They both involve communication. Writing is the more difficult skill to improve. Speaking involves ?on the spot? communication while writing requires a higher degree of accuracy. Other factors that need to be considered are: handwriting, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Meanwhile, there are different activities geared towards fluency and accuracy goals. Both have equal importance and should be incorporated with balance throughout the lesson.This unit covered future tenses. This might be the most confusing of the tenses for a student learning English as a second or foreign language, because of the fact that there are so many different ways the future can be expressed in English. This can likely also cause these concepts to be difficult to explain and teach, because of the way that they come naturally to a native English speaker. Thus, creative and interesting methods may need to be employed in order to allow students to grasp the concepts of the future tense.
