This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I have learnt from this unit that lesson planning is very important for both the teacher and students as this give a structured and organised way of planning and executing a lesson effectively. Lesson planning allows the teacher to create systematic procedural steps as to how the teacher want the lesson to be delivered while engaging the students interests as well as to provide better and more effective lessons in the future, by evaluation and feedback from what already done. Teachers who plan and execute their lessons with efficiency and effectiveness usually get students to participate and to engage the students interests based on their needs and learning style(s).
The unit states the importance of lesson planning as a form of record keeping as well as reference guide for other teachers, if the teacher who prepared the plan is absent, the lesson can still be executed, without much difficulty.
