Very interesting lesson. The English learners in a native English speaking country would not have this lesson because they are used to the pronunciation since birth. However, this lesson is a must for ESL teachers and for foreign students who are non-native English speakers. The phonology of English with different stress, rhythm and intonation can express different meaning and emotion of the same sentence. English pronunciation is standardized with phonemic symbols.I've learnt the importance of penmanship, punctuation, and spelling while learning a new language. I have also learnt the difference between fluency activities and accuracy activities which helps with my further learning because I can use different activities at different levels according to their stage of language comprehension. It was quite good for me to review the Straight Arrow ESA lesson plan because I was having trouble with it at the beginning of the course.
