This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In the 13th unit we learn about phonology and pronunciation. They are both well and clearly explained. We can find examples of how to teach them and what activities to use. Ad it is said in the unit, many teachers don't focus, for many reasons, on the pronunciation and phonology but I think it is important to teach them. Good pronunciation of English words gives us confidence while speaking to native speakers. I am a non native speaker and it is important for me to pronounce words correctly. The importance of this unit was focused on how to best optimize lesson planning for the classroom. It's important to remember that there is a methodical approach to not only teaching a foreign language but also that the students of the language will also benefit most from teaching that engages them and what they have learned in different ways in order to solidify new knowledge and information. This concept was highlighted in this unit through the teaching methods engage, activate, study, etc.
