This unit provided me with tools I will need to teach students effectively. It offers a glimpse of what real lesson planning will be like, because it suggests what is most important when tackling new vocabulary, grammar and language structure. New vocabulary can be taught in many different ways but still adheres to the ESA pattern of teaching. There are a wide variety of tools to be used in each stage of the process, as well as many to avoid at particular parts of the lesson.Unit 19 focuses on teaching special groups of students, including young learners, business English courses, individual students, and even multilingual classes. I found many important comparisons drawn between young learners and business English classes, especially in the form of materials recommended for use, and energy levels of the students. Regardless of the group being taught, it is clear that it is most important to remember the audience to which a teacher is teaching.
