This unit gave me a brief but detailed enough description of various teaching methods and techniques. It showed the positives and the negatives of each method. It gave a great insight into the ESA method which I believe is the best so far in teaching English. It was shown how important it is to engage the students in the early stages of the lesson. What was the best about this unit is that it gave various examples of activities that can be used during all the three stages of ESA.Classroom materials are generally authentic or created materials. Authentic materials engage the students and can be anything from relevant newspaper and media articles to videos and media. Created materials are created by the teacher and should be designed to cater to the course book. they can consist of crosswords, pictures, role play and flashcards. The course book provides security for both teachers and students, but should be used sparingly along with supplemental materials.
