I have learnt that tenses are more complicated than just past, present and future. There are various forms which can be confused easily, even by those who speak and write fluent English. I think the best form of learning tenses would be through role play, repetition and interactive games. If I were to work with young children I would keep the games very basic using basic words. When working with adults sentences can be varied. It would be best to match these to their everyday environments.This Unit discussed the wide variety of external examinations of English available to foreign speakers of English. It also reviewed different types of \"internal\" examinations which are conducted within the school teaching the English. Examples of these internal tests were placement, diagnostic, progress, and practice tests. This unit was helpful in pointing out the differences between diagnostic and placement tests, which I had formerly been unclear about before having read this chapter.
