Teaching new language includes three most important things. First is teaching vocabulary. Acceptance of new vocabulary depends on similarity of vocabulary learnt to students' native language, similarity to English words learnt, spelling, pronunciation and appropriacy. Vocabulary taught needs to be appropriate to the students and tasks, should include frequency, coverage, teachability. Students have to learn the vocabulary meaning, usage, grammar, spelling, pronunciation.
Second is introducing grammatical structures, that includes meaning, use, patterns, spoken and written forms.
Then, teaching language functions. This item includes such functions as inviting, refusing, agreeing and disagreeing, suggesting, appropriacy.
