This unit covered possible obstacles teachers may face, especially in the very beginning of taking on a new class. The first lesson should be focused on getting to know the students and, if the students are all new, too, getting them to acquaint themselves with each other. Warmers and friendly intro games can break the ice and allow the teacher to form an idea about the nature of the group as a whole and the best possible teaching method to apply in days to follow.
Large classes will require a different mode as opposed to one-on-one classes. The use of the students' native language should be kept at a minimum.
